The Cloud Institute for Sustainability Education

The Cloud Institute for Sustainability Education uses The Fish Game to start the conversation about education for sustainability with students and community members. The simulation invites us to 'go fishing' and the object of each game is to “have as many fish as possible by the end of 10 rounds”. The game teaches system dynamics, ecological principles, and responsible citizenship.

The Fish Game is often facilitated by Jaimie P. Cloud in boardrooms, classrooms and auditoriums around the country, and has been played internationally in places like Germany and Kenya. The Fish Game teaches that everything you do and don’t do makes a difference. The online game has been accessible for free for more than 15 years.

DevoCenter ran an individual donor campaign and helped The Cloud Institute raise $5,000 for a much needed Fish Game upgrade.

DevoCenter for Service-Learning supports our mission by providing guidance in the areas of finance and brand presentation for the organization. In the next year we will renew our contract for technical assistance, and we’ll plan to work together to develop service-learning curricula that educates for sustainability for post-secondary school students and adult learners
